- Take 225 g self-raising flour
- Prepare 175 g caster sugar
- Take 100 g softened butter/margarine
- Prepare 2 eggs

- Preheat oven to 180C (doesn't matter whether it's fan or not) and then line a 17x9x9 cm loaf tin with baking paper.
- Put all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and whisk with an electric whisk (or by hand if you prefer) for about 2 minutes.
- Spoon the mixture into the loaf tin and then pop it in the oven for 45-60 minutes. If you've got a fan oven it'll will bake quickerβ so watch out!
- When the loaf has turned a lovely deep golden brown take it out the oven and check with a skewer. (if it doesn't come out clean put it back in!!!)
- Leave it to cool for a bit, remove the paper and then slice and serve with or without butter. (Maybe a bit of peanut butter too!?)
